so little time

Well... It turns out that I made it to the gym two more times since the first. I actually have really been enjoying waking up at 5am, stumbling around the house in darkness, trying hard not to wake up my husband (Sam). My workouts have been light, just because I hate the got-hit-by-a-truck feeling when I don't ease myself into a workout regimen. It has been working because I am not unbearably sore.

I feel like there is just not enough time in the day. There is so much I want to do, so much I want to accomplish, so much I want to be involved in, so little time! I work a typical 8 hour day (sometimes more depending on the workload), and after work usually two to three days out of the week I am either at youth group or some kind of music practice for church service or the youth band that I am involved in. I thank God that FINALLY, because of finances, I have the opportunity to take voice lessons that I've wanted for the past 4 years, and am so thankful for that. As you know, my early mornings will consist of the gym and aerobics, but jees, lately I've really been thinking of getting into dance again. I have really been missing that feeling of creativity and expression through movement and dance. I was thinking of wanting to taking a lyrical or ballet class somewhere. Dance is something that was such a HUGE part of my life growing up and I just stopped once I got to college. My husband and I have also been talking about taking salsa lessons together and going to a "salsa night" at this local restaurant/dance club. I also wish there was more time for reading. I mean, I don't know what is coming over me! Just recently, I feel like I've changed so much. Reading is just an example. I was one of those high school students that didn't actually read the books I was supposed to read. I was lucky if I got through the cliff notes. Recently, I have had this ongoing desire to hit Borders and just sit and read about subjects that I would NEVER desire to read for pleasure, including Biology and world history... hullo!!! So as I was saying, I feel like there's just not enough time! And weekends, that's another story, usually there is something always going on with family or church or friends or some event or place we go. But I LOVE it! I LOVE being active and involved. Most of all, I love having purpose in my life!

Live to love

Tonight I was reminded of how much my family means to me. Every time I am around my family, especially the oldest generation, I want to do everything in my ability to let them know how much they mean to me and how much I love them, and to bless them in any way I can. I don't want to have any regrets when they're gone. I left work early today to meet my parents in NJ with my husband for dinner. Afterwards, we went to my cousins house for coffee and cake and to see my extended family that was visiting from Ohio. It really was a precious time that we shared together, full of laughter, jokes, old videos, and picture taking. In those old videos we watched a few of the older generation that are no longer with us today, but seeing those loved ones really made me value the relationships I have now, especially with the older folks.

On another note, this morning I decided to try out a nearby fitness center. I actually woke up at 5:30am so that I could get in the workout before going to work. For anyone who knows me, this is totally unlike my nature to actually wake up anywhere close to when the sun is rising. However, it felt so good to get such an early start on the day. I really want to make this a habit! I'll let you know if I follow through.... No, I WILL follow through! See, this blog is making me accountable!

Unwritten

So, yea.... This is my first blog. So do they call it blogger's block instead of writer's block?

My dreams are big, my spirit is free, and my future is yet unwritten......
